Insurance Information:

 There is a $15.00 per day compulsory insurance to be paid upon pickup of the rental vehicle. There is an excess bond of $ 1,500.00 or $ 2,500.00 if age 21-24.   When you pick up your motor home they will take an impression of your credit card for the excess bond insurance.  The impression of your credit card covers your accident-damage bond liability plus any extra costs such as fuel fill-up and emptying of the toilet at the end of motor home rental or any traffic infringements, losses or breakages.  A credit card imprint must be on all rental agreements and must be in the name of the main driver. The bond is not deducted from the credit card but gives the rental company the authority to deduct in the unfortunate event of an accident.  If a credit card is not available the bond can be paid in cash and the cash is held for 21 days following the rental.   
You can choose to pay a non-refundable bond waiver from $20.00 per day. This reduces the bond holding to zero and is on a per incident basis. A new waiver is required for the remaining days of rental after an accident has happened. You must report all accidents to rental company. Failure to report any incident will result in the total bond waiver being taken again.  Bond waiver does not cover articles, appliances and fixtures inside the motor home or articles in a rental car unless in the case of an accident.  Bond waiver is not available for 21-24 years old.  A credit card imprint must be on all rental agreements and must in the name of the main driver.
 
 
NEW ZEALAND  FLY / DRIVE  PACKAGE

  •   7 days of economy car rental with manual transmission & unlimited mileage
  •   Stay can be extended to a maximum of 30 days
  •   Travel must be completed by March 31, 2007
  •   Car rental upgrades are available

Due to several overlapping seasonal adjustments in airfares and car rental rates, please inquire for package pricing for your specific time of travel.

Inter-island rentals: Car rentals cannot be taken on the inter-island ferry. Renters must leave their vehicles on one island and pick up a vehicle on the next island.

Each rental must be for a minimum of 3 days and the second rental must be picked up within 24 hours of returning the previous rental.

Minimum rental duration: Minimum rental duration is 3 consecutive days. Rates are based on a 24 hour basis. A grace period of 59 minutes is allowed after which an extra full day will be charged.

Cancellations: There is a cancellation fee of $50.00 for all reservations cancelled after reservation is confirmed.

The $ 200.00 deposit is forfeited if reservation is cancelled within 21 days of departure. A cancellation fee of 50% of the total cost will be imposed for cancellations within 14 days of rental. No refunds for cancellations made after the date of travel begins.
 
INSURANCE INFORMATION FOR CAR RENTALS:
An accident damage excess bond of $ 2,812.50 applies. The bond of $ 2,812.50 which is the excess is payable at the time the car is picked up and is refunded in full upon return of the vehicle in clean condition with no  damage to the vehicle or third party property. The accident excess bond can be reduced to $225.00 by paying $16.88 per day or $ 84.38 per week (7 days) for smaller car types, larger cars are more.
