Day 1 - Arrival in Managua
Arrive at Managua International Airport. Complimentary hotel shuttle bus to Hotel Camino Real at Managua airport.
Day 2 – León Viejo – City Tour León – San Jacinto Hot Springs – León
After breakfast at the hotel, meet with your guide and begin your tour. Drive to the shores of Lake Managua to see the volcanoes and the ruins of León Viejo, founded in 1524 by Francisco Hernandez de Córdoba. While in León, visit its cathedral, the largest in Central America and burial site of Nicaragua’s famous poet, Rubén Darío. From the roof top you have fantastic views of the city and the surrounding volcanoes. Visit Rubén Darío’s house and the finest contemporary art museum, the Ortiz-Guardián Collection. In the afternoon, drive to San Jacinto Hot Springs, an expanse of bubbling mud puddles surrounded by fuming volcanoes. Return to León.
Day 3 - León – Masaya National Park – Masaya Market – Catarina – Granada
Leave León in the morning and drive to Masaya Volcano National Park. Visit the impressive Santiago Crater, which is still active, and explore the surrounding hills for more spectacular views. Then visit an open-air handicraft market in Masaya before heading to Granada. Stop at Catarina to enjoy the breathtaking view at Laguna de Apoyo, the largest and deepest volcanic crater lake in the country.
Day 4 - Granada City Tour & Boat Tour Las Isletas
Start your day with a half day city tour of Granada. Our list of “must sees” includes the Convento San Francisco with its ancient statues from Zapatera Island, La Merced church with its stunning view of the city, the Casa de los Leones and a colorful local market. After lunch at Encuentros, take a horse carriage to Lake Nicaragua, the second largest fresh water lake in Latin America. Explore the lush vegetation and the rich bird life of the many isletas in Lake Nicaragua by boat.
Day 5 - Granada – San Jorge – Ometepe
After breakfast, drive to San Jorge to catch the ferry to Ometepe. Upon arrival in Moyogalpa, Ometepe’s main town, continue to Charco Verde to observe the rich bird life. Then drive to Finca Magdalena for a walking tour.
Day 6 - Ometepe – San Jorge – Managua
Leave Ometepe in the morning. Private transfer from San Jorge to the airport in Managua for your flight home.

After breakfast we will visit this colonial city, Founded in 1524 along the shores of the “Sweet sea”, Granada represents an elegant and historical city in Nicaragua. Being currently restored, it is becoming the pearl of the colonial cities in Central America.
In the afternoon we will go to Lake Nicaragua. The captain will be waiting to take you on a boat ride and discover some of its 356 islands “isletas”. The inhabitants (“Isleños”) live peacefully in simple yet decent conditions and dedicate themselves to fishing and small agriculture.
Return to your hotel in the afternoon.

Day 3: Granada - Ometepe – Tour of the Island (B)
At 8.00 AM departure from Granada to Ometepe Island. Take the ferry and enjoy the magnificent views of the two volcanoes of Ometepe: Concepcion and Maderas rising up from the lake. Upon arrival, we will go to discover the island’s petroglyphs drawn by the indigenous natives, Ojo de Agua (natural underground waterfall), charco verde natural reserve and more…
In the afternoon, observe birds and monkeys on the island or visit the mainland which is visible on the horizon from this side of the island. Overnight in your hotel.

Day 5: Ometepe – Managua (B)

*Your last night might be in Granada instead of the airport hotel in Managua. That would be preferable unless your flight home is early in the morning. If it is an early morning flight, you would have to stay at the airport hotel. If your flight is later in the day, your last night would be in Granada. That would enable you to leave your luggage at the hotel in Granada and just take an overnight bag to Ometepe Island.

Day 1: Arrive – Managua.

After breakfast transfer to Leon City, on the way we will stop in Leon Viejo, this tour gives you the opportunity to see the ruins of the first capital of Nicaragua, founded in 1524 by Spanish captain Francisco Hernandez de Cordoba. Unlike Granada, this city moved to its present location in 1610. The ruins of the original León were declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000. This was the capital of Nicaragua for more than 200 years before being replaced by Managua in 1851. León's cathedral is the largest religious colonial building in Central America. The remains of the internationally known poet Ruben Dario are resting there. Enjoy a visit to the Museum Ruben Dario, Art Galley Ortiz Gurdian (one of the best private art galleries in Latin America). We will end our tour with a visit to the San Jacinto volcanic fields overlooking the impressive volcanic chain of Nicaragua.

Day 3: Masaya Area – Granada (B)
Breakfast in your hotel. Visit the First National Park created in Nicaragua in 1979, one of Nicaragua's most interesting and beautiful natural phenomena. It comprises an area of 54 km2 with more than 20 km of scenic roads and trails, leading to and around an impressive volcano and five formidable craters. One of them currently displays gaseous activity and incandescent lava in its interior. You can also visit the Museum that offers interesting history and legends.
Then we will visit the finest Handicraft Market where you will enjoy the creativity and variety of Nicaraguan art at bargain prices. Later transfer to Catarina Lookout. Catarina is a small and characteristic village of Nicaragua where people work seedling nurseries and raise horses. Placed on top of a hill at 520 meters over the sea level, it has a very agreeable climate. The temperature is between 22 and 27 degrees. You can have a magnificent view of the Apoyo lagoon, Mombacho volcano, Granada and Lake Nicaragua. After lunch, go to San Juan de Oriente, famous for its ceramic arts.

Day 4: Visit Granada and Lake Nicaragua (B)
Today, take an excursion to Granada, the third oldest city in the Western Hemisphere. Granada was founded in 1524 by Spanish captain Francisco Hernandez de Cordoba. Although often overrun by pirates, destroyed during civil wars and set on fire by the American William Walker in 1856, it remains one of the most beautiful cities in Nicaragua. You can take a carriage ride throughout Granada to appreciate its beautiful architecture. In the afternoon, we will end our trip with a boat ride to the beautiful islands of Lake Nicaragua.

Transfer to San Juan del Sur which is a small and very nice typical fishermen port located in the southwest, placed along a bay that overlooks the Pacific Ocean 90 kms west of Granada and 55 Kms from Costa Rica's frontier. Enclosed by prehistoric volcanic hills, San Juan del Sur is characterized by a 2 Kms wide sandy beach, with very good climate year round. You can go surfing, and deep sea fishing and swimming.

The islands “Isletas” were formed thousands years ago, after an eruption of nearby Mombacho volcano (now extinct). They are now covered with lush, tropical vegetation, some of them are inhabited by natives, others have vacation houses, on and others are deserted. Nicaragua Itinerary:
Day 1- Arrive in Managua. Take complementary shuttle to Hotel Camino Real, at the airport (4 star hotel)
Day 2- Short tour of Managua with your guide. The city was destroyed in 1972 after a violent earthquake. Visit the old part of the city, where you will see the historical Loma de Tiscapa, the ruins of Somoza's Palace and the volcanos that ring Lake Managua. Stop at the Parque del Paz, where thousands of weapons have been buried since the end of the civil war in 1990, and the Acahualinca Footprints which are over 2,000 years old. Visit the National Palace, the Natural History museum and the new Presidential House. Transfer to Hotel Patio del Malinche in Granada. (3 star)
Day 3- Start the day with a walking tour of Granada, the third-oldest city in the Western Hemisphere. Visit the Iglesia la Merced, Museum of the Convento San Francisco, Casa de los 3 Mundos, Estacion de Ferrocaril and end your day with a relaxing horse carriage ride to enjoy Granada's beautiful colonial architecture.
Day 4- Depart early to catch the ferry to Ometepe Island. After arriving, visit the pre-Colombian museum, the Green Puddles lagoon and view the stunning Concepcion and Madera volcanoes. Lunch (included) in Santo Domingo before transferring to Hotel Charco Verde.
