Drive from your hotel to this charming Caribbean town
for a tour of the historic Portobelo ruins. Once the most
important Spanish shipping port for gold transported by
mules from South America, it is now a peaceful and sleepy
place. Visit the “counting house,” which was used to count
the gold, and the town's 18th Century cathedral, which
is the home of the famous statue of the “Black Christ.”
A typical Caribbean lunch and return transfer to your
hotel is included.

PARTIAL TRANSIT THROUGH THE PANAMA CANAL-

Experience sailing through the famous Panama Canal. Catch
the boat in Gamboa as it transfers through the Miraflores
and the Pedro Miguel Locks to Gatun Lake. Lunch is served
on board. Afterward, sail to Amador, where you will disembark.

BARRO COLORADO ISLAND- $114 per person,

Visit the ancient nature preserve of Barro Colorado Island,
administered by the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute.
There are over 560 sepecies of birds, 125 species of reptiles
and amphibians, 159 species of mammals and over 1400 species
of plants and trees in the park. After lunch, return to
Gamboa and transfer to your hotel.

Board a dugout canoe and travel along the Chagres River
before arriving at the Chocoe-Embera Indian village. Spend
the day learning about their culture, music, dances, handicrafts

EL VALLE DE ANTON AND THE INDIAN MARKET-
$114 per person, based on 2 passengers (only on Sundays)
El Valle de Anton is one of the most colorful areas in
the Panamanian interior, known for its beautiful orchids
and ornamental plants. Visit the orchard and zoo, Loquat,
and the Indian market, where artisans sell their handicrafts,
including wood carvings, moles and soapstone sculptures.

EL VALLE DE ANTON AND CANOPY TOUR- $178

Climb to the top of the rainforest to see over the treetops,
a perspective that usually only scientists, researchers
and photographers get to see. Enjoy a one hour hike through
the forest with a naturalist guide before moving onto
the Canopy Adventure, where you can sail through the trees
on a zip line. Expert guides will assist you through 12
platforms before you end up in the Indian craft market
with lunch on your own.

the Chagres River. Visit a pond frog research station,
