Sunday

LA PAZ - Arrive in La Paz in the morning. Overnight PLAZA HOTEL or similar. Remainder of the day on your own to explore.

Monday

LA PAZ - Full day sightseeing in La Paz including a typical Indian Market, the famous Witch Doctor's Market and the San Francisco Colonial Church. Visit the Plaza Murillo where the Cathedral, the Government Palace and Congress are located. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, explore the unique Moon Valley and visit ceramic workshops.  Return to La Paz. Overnight PLAZA HOTEL or similar (Breakfast, Lunch)

Tuesday

LA PAZ - Half day tour to Tiwanaku, the former capital of an ancient civilization that rose around 700 AD. Located 72 Km from La Paz, during its greatest time, the capital of Tiwanaku was the largest in the world and considered to be "The Cradle of all American Civilizations." These pre-Inca ruins started endless archeological debates. Recent radiocarbon tests date the edifices back to 1,580 BC. You will visit the Sun and Earth Temples, plus ancient objects and tools that stand as proof of just how advanced this civilization was. Return to La Paz. Overnight Plaza Hotel or similar. Tour duration- 5 hours. (Breakfast)

Wednesday

LA PAZ - LAKE TITICACA - Depart early in the morning to Copacabana Sanctuary.  After breakfast, board the catamaran for your overnight trip, and sail to Sun Island, the legendary birth place of the Inca Empire. Visit the Inca gardens, Inca stairs and the Inti Wata Complex which houses the largest collection of archaeological and anthropological items found on the island. Visit the  Ekako Underground Museum, the traditional medicines and the Titikaka Reed Shipbuilders display, the Pachamama Inca terraces, the Intica lounge, and the Manco Kapac lookout.  Return to the catamaran for a lovely buffet lunch while sailing. After lunch visit Challapampa native village, the most isolated and unspoiled village on Lake Titicaca. This is a half day of participatory tourism where visitors have the opportunity to interact with one of the most unspoiled indigenous Titikaka islanders through an innovative program organized with the local community, visiting their museum, chapel, school, a typical house, sailing in their vessels to an Inca holy temple and walking the Inca trail. Return to the catamaran. Enjoy a candlelight dinner onboard. Overnight on the catamaran. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

You may wish to bring school supplies to share with the children at the local schools.

Thursday

LAKE TITICACA - LA PAZ - Enjoy a buffet breakfast on board. The catamaran sails to Copacabana. Disembark at Copacabana and travel by bus to La Paz. Overnight Plaza Hotel or similar. (Breakfast)

Friday

LA PAZ - SUCRE Transfer from hotel to the airport for the flight to Sucre. Arrive in Sucre and transfer to Hostal De Su Merced or similar. (Breakfast)

Saturday

SUCRE - Full day tour including a visit to "Casa de la Libertad", the Colonial Convent of La Recoleta, San Lazaro and Santo Domingo.  Also visit the University’s Museum, the Textile Asur Museum, Jaik’a and Tarabuco exhibitions, and other historic monuments. Included are San Francisco Xavier University, Santa Monica Church, the Convent of San Felipe de Nery.  Lunch at a local restaurant.  (Breakfast, Lunch)

Sunday

SUCRE - Full day visiting the Tarabuco Market, 60 km from Sucre. The Tarabuco culture is one of the most ancient indigenous cultures in South America. The market is a  colorful sight with local Indians in their famous monteras (Conquistador style leather helmets) and multicolored hand woven ponchos and chuspas (bags for carrying coca leaves and money). A typical country lunch at Calendaria Estate. Return to Sucre. Overnight at your hotel. (Breakfast, Lunch)

SUCRE - LA PAZ - Transfer from hotel to airport for the flight to La Paz. Transfer in La Paz to your hotel. Remainder of the day on your own. Overnight Plaza Hotel or similar. (Breakfast)

Tuesday

LA PAZ - Day of leisure for individual exploration. Overnight Plaza Hotel or similar. (Breakfast)

Wednesday

LA PAZ - USA - Transfer from hotel to airport for flight home. (Breakfast)
