DAY 1


Arrive in Bhutan.  Start your adventure with a visit to Tacho Gompa monastery to see its famous 15th century iron bridge. After lunch at a local restaurant,  visit the Kuenselphodrang,  built high atop the hills above the capital. From there, visit the Memorial Chorten built to honor the memory of the third king. Dinner at your hotel.

DAY 2


After breafkast, visit the capital of Thimpu including the Post Office where you can make your own stamps, and the Academy of Arts and Crafts. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit Changgangkha Monastery. From there head to the Takin Sanctuary to see Bhutan's most famous animals. Dinner at your hotel.

DAY 3


After breakfast drive to Paro and visit the 7th Century Kyichu Monastery, the oldest Buddhist monument in Bhutan.  Enjoy lunch in a local farm house and some free time in Paro Town. Then visit the National Museum and  Paro Rinpong Dzong, a massive castle/fortress which hosts the Paro Tshechu Festival. Dinner at your hotel.

DAY 4


Breakfast at the hotel. Today head to the famous Taktshang Monastery, known as the Tiger's Nest. This impressive monastery was built into the side of a sheer cliff face, 800 meters above the valley floor. Enjoy lunch at the tea house half way up the mountain, then hike the rest of the way up if you choose. Dinner at the hotel.

DAY 5


After breakfast, head to the airport for your flight home.
