Itinerary
DAY 1
Arrive in Iceland and transfer by the Flybus Shuttle bus from Keflavik Airport to the IcelandAir Hotel Natura. Use the rest of the day to explore Reyjavik on your own.
DAY 2

Breakfast at the hotel. At 9:00 AM, meet your guide and head to Akureyri. Stop at Grabrok Crater for an easy hike to the top, then drive to Hvammstangi to visit the seal museum. Visit the Vidimyri turf church before arriving at the IcelandAir Hotel Akureyri.
DAY 3

Breakfast at the hotel. Explore Akureyri on your own in the morning or take an optional whale-watching tour. Then visit Godafoss, the waterfalls of the Gods. From there stop at the lava formations of Kalfastrond, the craters of Skutustadir, and the Hverfjall tephra cone. Enjoy a late afternoon soak at the Myvatn Nature Baths.
DAY 4
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, visit the lava labyrinth of Dimmuborgir. From there, head to Namaskard full of bubbling mud pools and steaming fumaroles that make it look like Mars instead of earth. Stop by Dettifoss and continue on towards East Iceland. Overnight in East Iceland.
DAY 5
After breakfast, drive through the East Fjords and admire the dramatic landscape. Stop at Petra's Stone and Mineral Collection and spot Vatnajokull - Europe's biggest glacier.
DAY 6

Breakfast at the hotel. Start the day with a boat tour on the Jokulsarlon Glacial Lagoon (May-September). In the afternoon, visit the Eldhraun lava field and walk across the black beach at Reynisfjara. Stop at breathtaking waterfalls before visiting the Lava Centre to learn more about Iceland's unusual volcanic activity.
DAY 7

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Fridheimar greenhouse and stables for a demonstration of agriculture and Icelandic horses. From there visit the Golden Circle including the Geysir geothermal fields, Gullfoss, and Thingvellir National Park. Return to Reykjavik and take a short city tour.
DAY 8
Breakfast at the hotel. Spend your final day exploring Reykjavik on your own before your return transfer to the airport.
