Bali is the first place people think about when they think of Indonesia, but unsurprisingly a nation of more than 17,000 islands has a lot more to offer.

Skip traffic-clogged Jakarta in favor of other parts of Java (like the amazing ruins of Borobudur pictured above). Cruise to the Komodo Islands to see the legendary Komodo Dragons, or maybe to Raja Ampat to dive among perfect coral reefs. And there are so many different cultures still alive in Indonesia, like the Toraja Highlanders in central Sulawesi, known for their unique funerary customs unlike anything else on earth.

One thing's for certain, there's plenty still to uncover in Indonesia.
