DAY 1

Arrive in Marrakech and transfer to your riad (Riad Flam or similar).

​

Welcome dinner with the group at Al Fassia Gueliz.

DAY 2

Breakfast at the riad. Take a full day tour of Marrakech, the Pearl of the South, founded in the 12th Century. Visit the Koutobia Mosque, one of the main symbols of Marrakech, the Bahia Palace, the Tombs of the Saadiens, and the souks and medinas of the city.

DAY 3

​

Breakfast at the riad. Take a tour to Essaouira, a quaint fishing village influenced by the Portuguese and French, that has become a filming location for many popular movies and shows. Visit an argan oil factory, the fish market, the main square, and the ramparts and bastions of the city walls. Lunch and free time at the beach. Return to Marrakech overnight.

DAY 4

​

Breakfast at the riad. Depart for Ouarzazate via the TizinTichka Pass in the Atlas Mountains. Stop at Kasbah Taourirt, one of the largest movie studios in the world where famous films such as Cleopatra, Lawrence of Arabia, and The Man Who Would Be King were filmed. Continue on to Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its stunning sand-colored buildings nestled against the red rocks of the Atlas Mountains. Lunch at a local restaurant. Tour Atlas Studio, another famous movie studio in the Moroccan desert, then continue on  to the Dades Valley. Overnight in Dades.

DAY 5

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart for Erfoud, one of the last palmed oases on the rim of the Sahara Desert. Lunch in Erfoud. Take a 4 wheel drive into the Sahara, then switch to camels for a sunset ride into your luxury tented desert camp. Dinner at the camp.

DAY 6

Breakfast at the camp. Take the 4 wheel drive to Merzouga and explore the desert, including sand dunes, an ancient eyeliner mine, local nomads, villages, palm groves, and Merzouga Lake, also called Flamingos Lake. Overnight in a local riad. Dinner at the riad.

DAY 7

Breakfast at the riad. Drive to Fez via Midelt, through the Atlas Mountains. Stop for lunch in Midelt. Continue on to Fez and check into your riad.

DAY 8

​

Breakfast at the riad. Take a tour of the city of Fez, Morocco's first capital in the 8th Century. Now it is known as the intellectual, religious, and cultural center of Morocco. Walk through the Karaouine Mosque and University, the Attarine Medersas, the Nejjarine Fountaine, the local souks, and the tanneries. Overnight in Fez.

DAY 9

​

Breakfast at the riad. Along the way to Chefchaouen, visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis. You can also see the holy city of Moulay Idriss, a pilgrimage site to the tomb of the great grandson of the Prophet Mohammed. Continue on to Chefchaouen and overnight in a local hotel.

DAY 10

​

Breakfast at the hotel. Take a city tour of Chefchaouen, known for its stunning blue buildings. It was once a Moorish fortress town that protected exiles from Spain. Visit the Rass el-Maa waterfall and the main square of Outa el-Hammam. Overnight in Chefchaouen.

DAY 11

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Rabat and start your tour of the city with a visit to the Kasbah of the Oudayas, then the unfinished Hassan Tower and Mosque. Continue on to the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, the revered former king and grandfather to the current king, Mohammed VI.  Overnight in Rabat.

DAY 12

​

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Casablanca and take a tour of the city. Casablanca is the chief port, financial center, commercial center, and manufacturing center of Morocco. Because of this, it has grown into quite the modern city. Visit the Great Mosque of Hassan II, situated on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean on the easternmost point of Morocco. 

​

Enjoy a farewell dinner at Rick's Cafe, which recreates the famous saloon from the movie Casablanca in the city's old Medina.

DAY 13

​

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
