First head to Longshan Temple to see its stunning architecture, then walk through Huaxi Street Night Market and sample Taiwan's famous street foods. Try xiaolongbao soup dumplings at Din Tai Fung, then head to Taipei 101, where you can head up to the observatory to see a spectacular view of the city (observatory ticket not included).

HALF DAY WULAI ABORIGINAL VILLAGE TOUR

Explore Taiwan's indigenous past as you head to Wulai village in Northern Taiwan to visit the home of the Tai Ya Tribe. From there you can see the famous Wulai Waterfall, about 80 meteres high. Afterward, see a traditional aboriginal dance describing the birth of the Atayal Tribe.

NORTHERN COAST TOUR

Head up to Taiwan's Northern Coast and visit Keelung, one of Taiwan's international seaports. Visit the giant statue of Guanyin Buddha Statue in Chung Cheng Park and get a  wonderful view of the harbor. Afterward, visit Yehliu Park, famous for its stunning natural rock formations, including the Queen's Head.

TAIWAN FOLK ARTS TOUR

Head to Sanxia, a bustling town southwest of Taipei, and visit Zushi Temple. Destroyed during World War II, the temple has been painstakingly restored over the years and now everyone can see its intricate carvings. From there, head to Yingko, Taiwan's pottery center to see everything from Ming and Ching replicas to more modern pottery techniques.

YANGMINGSHAN NATIONAL PARK & HOT SPRINGS TOUR

Located just north of Taipei, Yangmingshan is famous for its volcanic activity and abundant natural resources. Visit the beautiful gardens of Yangming Park and the Flower Clock. From there, head to Xiaoyoukeng Recreation Area to see the post-volcanic geological landscape full of fumaroles, sulfur crystals, hot springs, and more. Then visit Lengshueikeng Recreation Area, a depression created by lava from Mt. Qixing and Mt. Qigu. The result is a "cold" hot spring with a temperture of only 104 degrees Fahrennheit.

JIUFEN VILLAGE & THE NORTHEAST COAST TOUR

Head to Jiufen Village, once the center of gold mining in Taiwan. The mines are closed, but the charming, old-fashioned towns remain, offering a glimpse into Taiwan's past. From there, head to the Nanya Rock Formations, transformed by the ocean waves into stunning natural stone sculptures. Afterward, visit Jinguashi once home to a Japanese POW camp, and former mines.

PINGXI SKY LANTERN EXPERIENCE & OLD STREET TOUR

Head to Shifen Town in Pingxi to experience life in old Taiwan. Back then, paper lanterns were used by workers to signal that they were safe. Now the lanterns are used as symbols of peace and good fortune, and the center of the Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival. Walk through Shifen's Old Street, where homes hug the railway track and feel its charming atmosphere before heading to Shifen Waterfall, nicknamed "Rainbow Pond" for the way the light catches on the water.

DAY 1:

Head to Puli, a beautiful town in Central Taiwan before touring around Sun Moon Lake. Visit Wenwu Temple, Ita Thao Indigenous Village, Ci'en Pagoda, Xuanzhuang Temple, and the Xiangshan Visitor Center. Overnight at Sun Moon Lake Hotel.


DAY 2:

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the village of Lukang, the center of arts and handicrafts in Taiwan, and one of the closest ports to Mainland China. The town is a shining example of uniquely Taiwanese architecture, which you can see during a visit to Lung Shan Temple. Return to Taipei.

3 DAY/ 2 NIGHT TOUR OF SUN MOON LAKE & MT. ALISHAN

DAY 1:

Head to Puli, a beautiful town in Central Taiwan before touring around Sun Moon Lake. Visit Wenwu Temple, Ita Thao Indigenous Village, Ci'en Pagoda, Xuanzhuang Temple, and the Xiangshan Visitor Center. Overnight at the Fleur de Chine Hotel.


DAY 2:

After breakfast, head to the Alishan National Scenic Area. Hike to the Sisters Ponds and the Three-Generation Trees before taking the Alishan Forest Railway and visiting Shouzhen temple. Overnight at Nice Prince Hotel in Chiayi.


DAY 3: 

After breakfast, head to the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum, an offshoot of the National Palace Museum in Taipei, which also hold multiple treasures and exhibits on Asian arts and cultures. Return to Taipei.
