A deeply spiritual place, Tibetans cling to their culture in defiance of Chinese rule. You will see them circumambulating every holy place in the country, prostrating themselves on the streets as they make pilgrimage, and adding yak butter to the lamps inside the temples. You can feel how special their traditions are to them, and that alone makes the visit worthwhile.
